Personnel
of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) study lakes & reservoirs throughout
the United States using multidisciplinary approaches
to examine:
| |
watershed control of inputs |
|
| |
in-lake processes |
|
| |
tailwater effects |
|
Many agencies
tasked with lake and reservoir management, use dynamic and empirical models
as predictors of management outcomes. Lake and reservoir studies conducted
by the USGS focus modeling efforts on rigorous use of models as
learning tools. Because the USGS conducts investigations throughout
the United States, results of individual studies can be incorporated into
a national perspective. |
