Maryland Water Monitoring Council Committees
Assessment and Reporting Committee
Identify and promote the use of appropriate analysis procedures and the
presentation of findings in both technical and non-technical formats.
Data Management Committee
Explore all existing data mamagement procedures employed in Maryland and
relevant to various management objectives and public concerns. The indicators
that are recommended will be appropriate for assessing water resources by
ecological and physiographic regions of Maryland.
Environmental Indicators Committee
Develop recomendations on which environmental indicators are useful and
relevant to various management objectives and public concerns. The indicators
that are recommended will be appropriate for assessing water resources by
ecological and physiographic regions of Maryland.
Monitoring Methods Committee
Promote and coordinate the collection of comparable water quality related
data. In fulfillment of this mission, the Committee will:
1. Identify past and ongoing monitoring conducted in the state;
2. Identify monitoring protocols used in the state and elsewhere; and
3. Identify any comparability Studies related to the data collected using
various protocols.
Planning Committee
Advise the Council on designing and implementing processes to facilitate
communication and collaboration of the monitoring community in
Maryland.
