Important efforts are now underway to
protect all the water resources of the Great Lakes Basin. The objective of this
Web site is to support those efforts and to improve our understanding of ground-water
flow in relation to the Great Lakes.
The information on this site is organized in two main parts.
The first is a summary of the concepts that govern ground-water flow and ground-water/surface-water
interactions. The second part includes details of a case study of a region bordering
Lake Michigan that describes the ground-water-flow system and quantifies the
relation between ground water and the Lake. |
